What is the BNHA Whump Bang?
The BNHA Whump Bang is a big bang themed around whumping characters from the manga/anime series Boku No Hero Academia (My Hero Academia) by Horikoshi Kohei.
What is whump?
Whump is a genre of fic/art where the creator puts a character in intense pain, whether psychological or physical. It is a variation of the genre Hurt/Comfort that places more emphasis on the hurt part, sometimes even lacking the comfort part.
What is a Big Bang?
A Big Bang, or Bang, is a fan event meant to create collaborative works of fanfiction and fanart based on specific characters and/or a theme. Writers begin by writing a story and the artists claim the chance to provide an accompanying art piece based on an early draft or summary.
Can minors participate in the Bang?
Yes, minors can definitely participate in the Bang! During the pairing process, mods will make sure that NSFW summaries are only viewed by artists and betas that are 18 years or older and comfortable with the topic. Only mods that are 18+ will have access to the NSFW summaries and channels.
Is there a theme for this bang, and if so, are we required to follow it?
Our theme is the moon! This theme is optional, and your pieces do not have to follow the theme. We simply have it for inspiration for those who need it.
Will ships be allowed?
Yes, ships will be allowed as long as the main focus of the fic is on the whump.
What is the creation minimum?
Writers must write at least 5k words for their fic, while artist must complete at least 1 colored piece.
How do I join the Bang? Can anyone join?
Anyone of any skill level is allowed to join the Bang as long as they are willing to commit to finishing a full piece! If you wish to join, you will need to submit an applicant as either a writer, artist, pinch hitter, or beta once the apps are available. Applications will be released on xxx.
Is Discord required to join?
Yes, as we will be doing a majority of our communication through Discord, having a Discord account is required to join the Bang.
Do I need to have a Twitter or Tumblr to participate?
No, Twitter and Tumblr are not required to participate. However, you should have somewhere to post your finished piece.
Can I apply as more than one type of contributor (artist or writer)?
Yes, you can sign up for a max of two pieces. This means that you can sign up to illustrate two pieces, write two pieces, or complete one of each.
Can I sign up with a friend as a prearranged pair?
Yes, prearranged pairs will be allowed so long as you let a mod know once you join the Discord server!
How will partners be assigned?
Mods will be assigning the partners after the Summary Selection period. Artists and betas will be asked to submit which fics they would most like to illustrate/edit and will be assigned to a writer based on the submitted preferences.
Do you have any requirements for size or programs used when making the artwork?
Artists need to complete one fully colored piece with a background. For traditional art, photos/scans must be reasonably high quality. Other than that, there are no requirements, so feel free to work with whatever size/program you think is best.
What is a pinch hitter?
A pinch hitter is someone who steps in to fill a role when another participant drops out. They are someone who’s able to help out in a pinch.

Guidelines
Writers
All writers will write at least one (1) fanfiction of at least 5k words. You can write more if you so choose. There are no restrictions on content other than that you must hurt somebody. A fictional somebody. Minors cannot write or interact with NSFW.
Artists
Artists will be paired up with writers and draw at least one (1) coloured picture based on their paired writer's fic. Artists may draw multiple images and/or be paired with multiple writers (depending on if we have more writers or more artists). Again, minors cannot draw or interact with NSFW.
Betas
Writers will seek betas as desired in the discord server. Betas are free to sign up to beta for projects as they come up if they so choose. You can be a long-term beta for a fic, a short-term beta for many fics, or both! Minors, of course, will not interact with NSFW.
Pinch Hitters
A pinch hitter is a creator that may be contacted to write or draw in place of a creator who has dropped out. You may be given a wip to work with, or you'll have to start from scratch based on the remaining partner's work. And, as always, minors will not be interacting with NSFW.
